Ron Täubert and the colour white

It’s a good thing we all perceive colours in the same way, then, isn’t it? So if Ron Täubert appears bronzed and beautiful to one person, other people will see him in a similar way. So it’s a fairly safe bet that when somebody comes up to you and says, “Hey Ron, have you been on holiday?” the next guy you run into isn’t going to blurt out, “Ron, get thee to a doctor quick!”

But who can say for sure that it will always be this way? What if people did see things differently? The consequences would be truly disastrous! For everyone! And for an artist of course particularly so! The entire Täubert oeuvre would no longer be what it once was. Would it? Or maybe that wouldn’t be so bad after all? Maybe the reality is that I alone, Ron Täubert – who usually sees things a bit differently – would suddenly be understood!

My artwork would suddenly adorn the walls of museums! What a terrific thought! But what would that mean for the artworks currently exhibited in museums? They would also be perceived differently than they have been up to now. No matter, all of it’s got to go; out with it!

Goodbye Picasso – hello Täubert,
goodbye Dali – hello Täubert,
move over Monet – make room for Täubert!

Of course I’d be inundated with commissions from all the museums that now needed filling! But I’d reject all of it out of hand of course, and instead create a single humongous, holistic work of art – for Everyman. I’d probably dub my very self a work of art and proceed to travel the world. I’d be a kind of itinerant exhibition. This would be very interesting from a tax standpoint, since my activities would all be work-related and would have nothing to do with holidaymaking.
